Personality
Likes: Magical creatures, learning to fly, Quidditch, reading, writing in her diary, adventures, Muggle Studies, mythology of any sort, fairy tales, classical Muggle music, jewelry, making things pretty, flowers, doodling, collecting anything, books, photography, Shakespeare, and helping out teachers.
Dislikes: Ignorance, intolerance, people who walk too slowly in front of her when she’s trying to get to class on time, rudeness, being mean, bullies, obnoxious people, messiness, and liars.
Character's Abilities
Strengths:
1. Cleverness. Diana can come up with a solution to any problem, figure out any puzzle, and come up with some witty phrases when she wants to.
2. Creativity. She can make something out of anything. She’s very artistic in that aspect.
3. Loyalty. She’s fiercely loyal and will defend her friends and family at any cost.
4. Patience. She could sit through any boring class, listen to any droning person, or wait for an eternity before finding results. She believes in lettings people and things happen in their own time, of their own accord.
5. Care of Magical Creatures. She loves the subject very much and is quite good at handling the creatures.
6. Potions. She's very advanced at Potions and has privately concocted many difficult ones and has experimented with her own.
Weaknesses:
1. Clumsy. She doesn’t have a good sense of balance and falls or bumps into things quite a lot.
2. Indecisive. While she’s very clever, Diana has a problem with making a decision and sticking to it. She tries to see the picture from all sides and fears making a mistake. It leads her to fail in making any decision.
3. Insecure. Not very sure of herself at all, she has a problem with backing up her magical abilities. She never thinks she’s good at anything which is why she over studies and reads constantly. Diana’s always felt that people know more than her and she feels constantly a step behind the rest.
4. Emotionally vulnerable. ‘Wears her heart on her sleeve’ is the phrase for it. It’s her main weakness. Attack her physically, she’ll recover. Attack her emotionally and it’ll be a while before she gets back on her feet. She’s very sensitive in that area.
5. Defense Against the Dark Arts. Not good at it ... at all. Can cast a good shield charm, but that's about it.
6. Divination. Absolute rubbish at it.
7. Transfiguration. Diana's not very good at wand work.
Character History:
Like everyone else, Diana was accepted to Hogwarts and boarded the train to learn the magical ways of the Wizarding World. The daughter of wizard and a Muggle-born, it wasn’t a surprise when she received her letter. Upon arrival at the castle (nearly falling out of her boat across the lake before doing so), she saw that it was everything she’d dreamed about. Her parents had told her about the school and she couldn’t wait to be going.
During her first year at school, Diana wandered into the Forbidden Forest with a couple of friends. Of course, they weren’t doing it on purpose. A gang full of eleven year olds? Their minds weren’t on boundaries or rules; their minds were on a game of hide and seek! They were eventually led back by a centaur before they could get into any real trouble in the forest. As for the trouble they got to when they got back to the castle? A warning from their head of house (who was a bit lenient after Diana burst into tears at the thought of being punished) to not go near the forest again was what the received.
During her second year at school, Diana became more interested in Quidditch. The entire year, one of her biggest goals was to learn how to fly (that, and pass her end of year exams). She also fell in love with Herbology and became a regular at Greenhouse Three, helping out Sprout whenever she could. By the end of the year, Diana had achieved her goal and earned a reputation as a bookworm and nerd. In all honesty, she was flattered by the titles.
Her third year proved a bit more difficult than the previous two. She took on a few more subjects, but eventually learned to manage her academic load accordingly. An overachiever, Diana loved all her subjects, but whether or not she was very good at them was a different story. Of course, Divination was hard and confusing a lot of the time. Potions class was a breeze. Defense Against the Dark Arts … definitely not one of her strengths. Herbology, interesting and challenging at times. Above all, Care of Magical Creatures was her best and favorite subject. She absolutely fell in love with the hippogriffs and Hagrid became one of her favorite teachers, despite what a lot of her peers thought of him. As for non-academic activities, they were really limited. The Hogsmeade visits her year was allowed to go weren’t as fun as she thought they’d be. With the prisoner Black escaped from Azkaban and the dementors floating around all the time, it was a rather tense year for the most part. Her flying didn’t improve much that year.
It was during her fourth year that Diana realized Defense Against the Dark Arts really wasn’t going to be a strong suit for her. She just didn’t have the courage to defend herself from anything. Other than that, the school year was very interesting. With the Triwizard Tournament (even with its hiccups) was very fun to watch. The year did end bad, though, with a student dying. Dumbledore’s last speech of the year resonated within her and she made the choice to do what she could to help the good side (as much as a fourth-year could anyway).
As for her fifth year at school … we’ll wait and see!
